Community Advisory Board Consultancy

The Healthier Black Elders Center has a long history in Detroit of working with older adult members, offering health education and working with researchers to conduct research projects. Our Community Advisory Board is a wealth of wisdom and willing to share what we’ve learned. In 2020, we launched the Healthier Black Elders Center Consulting (HBEC-C).

Strategies

HBEC-C provides a broad array of consultancy services encompassing:
(a) a specific Organizational Process including preliminary meetings, project focus, study phases, and compensatory/accounting expectation.
(b) a Program Timeline specifying CAB staffing needed, form of the project, and review of payment structure, and
(c) two types of consultancies:

1. provides feedback capability to researcher for sharing with the older community
2. advising on partnership formation between Community Advisory Board (CAB)/research registries with researcher/community entities.

We offer two types of consultancies for:

researchers/product developers to give feedback on research design, product design and dissemination of information/findings to older adult populations research groups, institutions, community groups on working in partnership with community advisory boards and research registries
